19 Motivational Ideas For Pursuing Your Goals

Feeling lazy or unenthusiastic to attain your goals? These motivational ideas may be useful to you.

Remember the carrot and stick game? Set both the reward and punishment for yourself. When you reach a milestone, pamper yourself with a gift. On the other hand, if you fail to push yourself to strive for your goal, the punishment is to double your hard work!

9. Imagination

Assume that you have succeed and obtain all the things that you want. Ah… Isn’t it wonderful? For instance, picture the slim you or visualize staying in your dream house. The more you imagine, the happier you are and the higher your spirit to strive. Try it!

10. Role model

Is there anyone that has achieved the dream that is similar to yours? Take him/her as a role model. Learn the attitudes, strategies and values that help him/her succeeded. Believe that if he/she can do it, you can too!

11. Hypnotize

I know nothing about the mysterious charm. The hypnotize I mean here is to tell yourself every day: “I can do it! I definitely can!!” Keep boosting your confidence and motivation by applying this small step daily and see the magic appears.

12. Courage

Is leaving your comfort zone makes you discouraged to move forward? Rewrite your goals and the reasons that you want to attain it. Write it on a paper for at least 10 times. Keep in mind that this is the challenge that you have to take to fulfill your goal. So, step out with courage!

13. Support

Tell your friends and families about your target. I’m sure they will support you generously in various way. Another purpose of this is that they can keep an eye on you in case you tend to be lazy, ha 😀

Join the online group or forum which shares the same goal with you. Members with similar interest and aim can easily understand and get along with each other. Share the ups and downs, support each other and pursue the dream together.

15. Venue

Your effort does not have to be dull and boring. Try changing the venue of your routine. For example, if you jog to lose weight, try to switch to different parks. If you are building your website, bring your laptop to a coffee shop instead of working at home. A change of place will uplift your mood and motivation.

16. Health

Your dream is important, but being physically fit and healthy is also vital. Take nutritious food, get enough of sleep, exercise and be positive. All these steps will help you to gain the power and energy to pursue your goal.

17. Never give up

It’s easy to fall into the trap of ‘quitting’ when we face some obstacles. Instead of striving more aggressively, try to take a break. Do the things that you enjoy: sing, shopping, watch comedy etc. Release the disappointment first, and then lift yourself up. Treat failure as a stepping stone to success.

18. Focus

When people critic that you can’t do it, stay focus on what you’re trying to achieve. Remember that this is your dream, not theirs. You can make a sign stating: “Nothing can stop me! I’m possible!” Clip it on your memo stand. Remind yourself not to give in or give up.

19. Declaration

Have you ever gone up a hill and shout out your goal as loud as you can? We often see this in the movie right? So next time when you are having self doubt or discouragement, try this and you may experience a boost of motivation!
